4-Day Trip to Islamabad + Haul

Hey everyone! I just could not fit in my schedule to blog or keep up with my store. Or see my family. Or eat or sleep. I was extremely occupied with my fashion portfolio. So much that I ended up destroying my health (I am obsessive that way). The dehydration was getting to me and I almost missed my trip to Islamabad. But I gathered my strength and I did it. I packed and tagged along with my sister to Islamabad.

Karachi School of Art Fashion Show 2016

Hey everyone! I know it's not everyday that I cover an event on my blog and neither do I ever volunteer. But hey, this time I actually got off my lazy bum and volunteered for Karachi School of Art Fashion Show 2016 held on July 23rd at Rangoonwala Auditorium, designers include my seniors at the institute (batch of 2015). The event was attended by chief guests sculptor Rabia Zuberi and designer Yousuf Bashir Qureshi.

The fashion show was themed at 'Angels & Demons'. Each student had designed an evening gown and cocktail dress based on either angel or demon or both. Even though the fashion design programme consists of only 2 semesters, the students performed brilliantly. The cuts, colors, accessories, everything was totally mesmerizing. It was all thanks to the supervisors Mrs. Jiya Hassan and Mrs. Uroosa Umair for guiding the students so well throughout the year and bringing out the best in them. I can't wait for my own show ^_^

The photographs were taken by Raheel Sualiheen. If you are interested in any of these dresses just email me at and I'll forward your request to the designer.

Hope you all liked this post! I sure enjoyed being there and volunteering for it <3 p="">

Have a beautiful weekend!

Sweet Touch matte lipstick is perfection!

Hey beauties! I'm back after a much needed break. Hope you all have been doing well.

During Ramadan I was sent a Makeup City goody bag and this lipstick was the one thing I was most excited to try. Sadly, I haven't been feeling well all throughout Ramadan, Eid and the post-Eid (the anxieties and stuff). I tried it out today and I loved it! In a single statement I would say that this is the best budget-friendly matte lipstick that I've ever tried. But you're welcome to read the rest of the blog ^_^.

sweet touch matte lipstick review swatches

When I was putting on the first layer, it felt extremely hard and I was really annoyed. But I guess it softened up after that and the lipstick applied like a dream. It is heavenly pigmented and covered up every bit of my lips. Like, whenever I put on matte lipstick, the cracks and dry parts are left void of color and it is just a sad situation for me. But not with this one. It applied just like a creamy lipstick would!

I am totally amazed by the formula. The whole time I had it on, I was making faces, smiling broadly, putting, etc, just to see if my lips would crack up. But they never did. This is why, my friends, you need this lipstick in your life! You know I have extremely dry lips and NEVER has a matte lipstick been so kind to me.

The color lasts really well. I drank tea 2 hours into wearing it; a bit of color did come off on the mug but my lips remained fresh. No bleeding whatsoever and I didn't need a touch up at all. Sadly, 4 hours into wear my lips were attacked by my sister's hand. Because she is evil that way. (If you're reading this, I know where you keep your precious novels). Wear time could easily be 6 hours!

#723 is a brown-based red. It has a vintage feel to it and I love that. It's one of those colors that instantly perks up your entire face. It's great for those days you don't feel like wearing eye makeup. You could even skip foundation, it's that good!

Sweet Touch is easily available anywhere makeup is sold and their own store Makeup City. I'm totally getting more colors!

Keep smiling!

2016 is the year of self-discovery

pakistani blog karachi beach, self-discovery
Every day I stop and think how much my life has changed this year. Doing what you love has such a great impact on you. 5 years I've spent with no idea what to do. No reason to get up in the morning. I've had anxiety and I still do. But in just these 6 months life has taken a 360 turn on me.

mango leather ankle boots (Shop link)
Boots in summer? Yes, I wear them all year round 'cause I love the Euro chic vibes they give off! These are darker than my Next tan colored boots and the heel is wider so they are definitely gonna hurt me less. This color goes with all the outfits, trust me on this. Plus, they are like half off! PKR 4000 down from PKR 8000. Isn't that an amazing deal?

outfitters pink textured belt (Shop link)
Outfitters has really pretty belts out right now. I have actually already bought this baby. Belts are great with really loose, long tops. Looks very chic. This is worth PKR 690 on sale.

Ethnic seriously has a beautiful and unique collection of scarves. And you know me, always ready to buy a unique scarf. It's a neutral toned scarf with multi colored tassles (oh how much I love tassles) so this is really going to match with a lot of your outfits; blues, green, etc, and also with a multi colored, full-on printed kind of top too! This is available for PKR 890.

zeen spring woven box clutch (Shop link)
Aren't these the cutest clutches you have ever seen? These are covered with a lacey, woven fabric covered. Even though I've never liked box clutches before, but now I see it. I'm in love! My favorite part is that you could carry them during day and at night time both. These are affordable too (as affordable a good quality clutch gets), priced at PKR 2490.

Yes, I'm 23 and I shop from Claire's. Not completely sure if these would be available here though 'cause I haven't been to the mall since Ramadan started. I think they should make a Claire's Pakistan website now.

If you all need some outfit ideas, you can check out my instagram. It's regulary updated with my crazy outfits. I might be posting a summer look book too soon.

How to ease into wearing bold lipsticks

Hey beauties! So, 5 years ago I remember putting on my first lipstick and thinking 'Eww! It's so yucky and overly creamy! It's probably expired'. I just couldn't stand the weight. Also, my lips are extremely dry so the colour clang to the dry flaky parts. It was an ugly mess. The lipstick was tossed into trash and an oath was taken to never wear lipstick again. 5 years on, I'm wearing full-on vampy lipsticks. And this is how it happened.

How to ease into wearing bold lipsticks, makeup for teens, pakistan beauty blogger

1) Lip stains

MUA Kiss Proof and NYC Smooch Proof 16H, these were the two lipstains I would wear. They lasted all day long and made me get accustomed to wearing color on my lips.

2) Lip liners

I would totally wear lipliners like matte lip colors 'cause at that time I had no knowledge of the existence of matte lipsticks. You can barely feel 'em on your lips and yet they look fabulous! The two lip liners I love are Jordana Easy Liner and Rimmel 1000 Kisses. They both are a dream to apply and last really well.

3) Pigmented lip gloss

Color Studio Haute Lip Gloss and NYX Butter Gloss, these two are great for those who have dry, flaky lips like mine. They are pigmented, give a gorgeous, translucent sheen without the crazy glitter and they leave lips smooth. As if you were a lip balm the whole time. AND they don't feel too creamy. Yayy!

So if you're feeling a little weird putting on a bright red or purple lipstick, why not wear a lipgloss/liner/stain instead?

4) Blot it out

When you start wearing the lipstick eventually, always blot our lips with some tissue paper. It'll help to make your lip color more natural and less attention grabbing.

5) Be confident

Whatever you wear, just feel confident in it. Because you're only doing it to make yourself happy and shouldn't care what others think ^_^.

Hope you all found this post useful!

So how many of you have seen these new Olor fragrances at supermarkets? I always like seeing new stuff at supermarkets, especially in the makeup/skincare department. Someday I will see a Sephora (sigh) Olor is originally from Netherlands and it's drugstore, budget-friendly (love that word these days) beauty brand.

Yeah, I painted

Hey everyone! Jumma mubarak to all and Happy Earth Day as well. Please take care of our planet Earth, throw thrash in the bin (it's always nearby, you just need to stand up and look) and conserve water and electricity.

On another note, I finally painted! It wasn't an assignment or anything. It was actually for Youth Arts & Literary Exhibition, which i didn't win but who cares! I finally painted and I'm so proud of myself :'D

Me with my beautiful painting

I had this really beautiful photograph of these apartment galleries at Burns Road, Saddar and I decided to paint that. I wish I knew who the photographer was so i could give him credit. The medium I used was soft pastels and I spent like a week making it 'cause I was sooooo exhausted after my mid-term display and I got sick as well due to that. I actually considered not making it and leaving it halfway but then I realised that that's what I've been doing. Leaving things. And then blaming everyone else for it. NOT DOING THAT ANYMORE!

So I sprawled all the soft pastels and myself across my father's office and 1 week later my painting was done and everyone at home was like 'Oh my God Jabeen! You made this??' and I was like 'Pshaw. Yeah. It's a piece of cake.'

Well, hello there beautiful painting. How goes the day?
Youth Arts & Literary Exhibition was a 2 day event held at Beach Luxury. It's a great event to attend if you're into writing and arts and all that jazz. Like there's a short story competition that my sister participated in and got short listed :-D aaaand we met Ali Sethi!!! And my sister actually spoke to him and he guided her and advised her about writing and stuff, whilst I stared at him like an idiot ^_^.
Have a great weekend!

My painting "Looking up Burns Road" is available for sale. Email me at if you're interested.

My Mid-term Display

Hey Beauties! Feels like just yesterday I started KSA and now I'm halfway done with the first semester ^_^ Yesterday was my mid-term display and I wanted to share it with you all.

This is what happened the night before the display: Lost my cutter and ran out of , like, my 10th tube of glue, with so many assignments still un-mounted and mood and research boards still not glued.

So more than half of my time allotted for putting up the display was occupied with the mounting and completion of my assignments, where ever glue was required. Sitting on the floor like a little murghi, my skirt in a mess, cutting up 2 inches of mounting sheet with a scissor (you don't know how hard it is without a cutter), with ugly dirt-covered feet - this was not part of my plan.

Lesson learned, I'm getting a whole carton of UHUs next time I'm grocery shopping.

As I was writing this blog, my sister found the cutter.

Fashion Illustration

My favorite course! I had little time and little-r energy left after those buck-loads of assignments, but I still I managened to make the display look presentable. My teacher loved it though; she said the separation and labelling made it look soothing to her eyes ^_^.

I'm not reading Fangirl

fangirl rainbow rowell pakistan, pakistani beauty and book blog

You know when you love a book, you're not able to put it down. You need to read it all the time. You're reading it before going to bed and right after you wake up. You're reading it in those 5 minutes of free time you have while waiting for your van to pick you up for art school. You're putting off doing your assignments. And when you really absolutely love it, skipping your lunch to read it. You're reading it going up the stairs ('cause while coming down would be stupid, duh. You'd fall and your book might tear up).

Hey beauties! So sorry for being away. I got sick (like I do every month) and when I went back to school, I was literally bombarded with work. Even when I got time to blog, my internet issues got in the way.  I hope you have all been great and the lawn shopping is going well ^_^

KSA Week 1

*My condolences to the families of the 21 university students that passed away yesterday. I pray they go to Heaven.*

Hey beauties! Hope you're all well. Last week I started my Fashion Design diploma classes at Karachi School of Art, which henceforth will be referred to as KSA. I'll be doing my best to write a blog about my journey over the year, once a week. Before I begin I just wanna say that I'm extremely happy there. I can dress how I want, wear the darkest lip color and not worry about how people are gonna react. 'Cause nobody has the time for that I guess :-P. It does feel quite small though and there's just 1 pathetic canteen - this IS something you need to adjust to after spending 4 years at the vast and canteen-full KU. Anyway, I LOVE DRAWING!

The diploma course is divided into 2 semesters. This semester I will be studying Drawing & Design, Accessories Design, Fashion Illustration & Textile Design.

Drawing & Design

On Mondays I have Drawing & Design class. My first ever assignment was to draw 3 patterns from my own imagination relating to Abstract, Geometric & Floral themes. This is what I made in class.
